the end of an era

We’ve been busy packing up over here. Heading home. I can honestly say that I thought we’d never get there. It just took so much to get here that I felt certain someone was going to take it away from us.

I’ve never minded packing so much in my life. Certainly not a chore. A blessing. I’m blessed.

These scribbled out words are what got packed into the box the day after the tornado hit. By a friend, not sure who. Watching Ernie scribble those out and write it’s new contents on the top gave me such a feeling of gratitude.

Thankful to the friend who labeled this box. Thankful to the friends who showed up that Sunday to help us pack our lives. Thankful for the friends and family who have helped so much along this journey. They’ve lent an ear more often than I am sure they felt like.

Thankful for finally getting to move back home.

Nona and Chase

Ever since I started my photography career I have taken yearly photos of my friend Nona and her son (and sometimes her mother and sister and nephews) I could definitely say she’s been one of my biggest and earliest cheerleaders. So, anyway, here’s a few from this years session. It’s been fun to see Chase go from such a little boy to kind of a big kid. Thanks girl for being such a good friend and a really awesome cheerleader.

a sweet little baby shower

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the baby shower of my dear sweet friend Ashley. She is expecting her first little one in a few short weeks. Here’s a few shots from the day just because I can’t help myself.

Seriously!!!! What a sweet little cake! Ashley cried when she saw it.

I made Ashley pause for a belly shot.

and then I couldn’t resist grabbing a few of the newest addition to the group. Little Miss Sydney (who belongs to the hostess) She’s just celebrated her 1 month birthday. Look at those sweet little lips. LOVE!

Hey guys, Still here. Working on getting this here site all functional soon. I’ve even hired me a computer person to make sure it’s smooth like butta. So, I am hoping to roll back out to blog land by the end of next week? Who knows. I am also in the process of moving (yay!) So, lots happening everywhere. I’ve even stashed away some photo goodness (that you’ve never seen!) from the fall and winter sessions to share here when I get back to it. In the mean time check me out on facebook and as always- feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions.

And- for no reason really, here’s a photo of our house rebuild that we’re working on since we lost it in the tornado last April. So ready to move home! Been a long long long 10 months.
